Pulpit Roster for the Season of Eastertide, Pentecost & Holy Trinity Sundays
SCRIPTURE TEXT – ISAIAH 41:17-18
The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.
Eastertide celebrates the Great 50 days between the Resurrection of Jesus and the Day of Pentecost. It focuses on Christ’s resurrection appearances between Easter and Ascension Day. The time between Ascension and Pentecost is also a time of joyful prayerful waiting for the power of the Holy Spirit.
Pentecost Sunday remembers the coming of the Holy Spirit and the Birth of the Christian Church. It is followed immediately by Holy Trinity Sunday celebrating the unique Christian revelation of the innermost life of the One true God as Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
