Singapore’s population is ageing and we are set to become a “super-aged” society by 2026. More families within our church community will need to care for loved ones who suffer from slowing cognition, especially dementia. The church is called to build to build up these families in love (Ephesians 4:16).
We have invited Caregivers Alliance Limited in partnership with Seniors Ministry to tailor a training program to equip those whom God has called for this work of empathetic encouragement to others. This program will provide them with the tools and handles to encourage those facing dementia or those who are family and non-family caregivers.
This training is segmented into 4 sessions with the participants being trained in the following areas:
Session 1: Introduction and Basic Dementia Knowledge
Session 2: Empathy and Caregiver Support
Session 3: Empathy and Engagement with Care Recipients with Dementia
Session 4: Self-Care and Community Resources
Certificates of participation will be awarded to participants upon completion to recognize the volunteer’s knowledge and skills.
Date: Saturday 8, 15, 22 Feb, 1 Mar
Time: 9.30am to 12pm
